NTBR in Daejeon: Orange Latte and Lescure Butter Croissants
A Daejeon local I know recommended this bakery cafe. I paired a zesty drink and a nutty one with soft pastries, then took in the different views on each floor.

On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at around 1 p.m., I stopped by NTBR, a bakery cafe in the Sintanjin area of Daedeok-gu, Daejeon. Someone I know who lives in Daejeon had recommended it.
NTBR is short for "Nutty Beurre."
"Nutty" is the English word, and "beurre" is French for "butter."
As the name suggests, this is a bakery cafe built around its bread, and it uses French Lescure butter.
I had an orange latte and a Nutty Beurre latte, along with a chocolate croissant and a plain croissant. It's a good fit if you want bread that's baked on site, or if you're looking for a roomy cafe worth a drive from Daejeon. In this post, I'll go through how ordering works, the brunch set discount, how the drinks and bread tasted, each floor of the building, the second-floor restroom, and what to check before you go.
The First-Floor Bakery and Order Counter
A Brunch Set That's Discounted When You Order a Drink and Sandwich Together
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was a sign for the brunch set. When I visited, the set gave you a discount for ordering a drink and a sandwich together. According to the sign, it comes with a croissant sandwich (your choice of egg mayo or classic morning), a soup (your choice of mushroom or kabocha squash), and one Americano. The regular price is 19,000 won, and with 20% off, it comes to 15,200 won. To order the set, you pick out your sandwich from the display case yourself and bring it to the counter.
The refrigerated case held the two kinds of croissant sandwiches you can choose for the set. The top shelf had roll cakes, including what looked like a tiramisu roll.
A Coffee Bar Where You Choose Your Beans When You Order
The counter had several grinders filled with beans, and you can pick your beans when you order. Just go by whether you like a nutty, toasty coffee or one with more acidity.
Self-Serve Bread Shelves
You grab a tray and tongs and pick your bread straight from the shelves. The display was long and packed neatly with bread, with no empty gaps, so deciding what to get was half the fun.
The Bakery Kitchen Behind the Counter
Behind the counter, past a grid-paneled glass wall, is the kitchen where the bread is made.
I could see for myself that everything is baked right there in the shop.
A sign said that every item on the menu is available to go. Another noted that if you buy five or more pieces of bread, they'll pack them in an NTBR gift box and paper bag.
It seems like a nice place to pick up bread as a gift, too.
An Oven for Warming Bread, Lap Blankets, and a Self-Serve Water Station
There's an oven off to one side where you can warm up your bread as much as you like. Customers use it themselves, so if you want your bread warm, heat it up before you sit down. Lap blankets were stacked under the oven—handy if it feels a bit chilly inside or if you're sitting on the rooftop or outdoors.
Water is self-serve from a station, and the Wi-Fi password is posted on the side of it.
A Three-Story Building
NTBR is a three-story building, with a rooftop on the top level.
When I visited, the floor directory marked the rooftop as a NO KIDS ZONE.
The restroom is on the second floor. There's no elevator, so if you're with a stroller or someone who has trouble walking, the first floor is your best bet.
Water Flowing Down the Glass and a View of the Soryuji
What caught my eye most was the facade, designed so that water runs down the glass like a waterfall. Up close, the view through the glass ripples with the water, and it makes you want to take a picture.
The pond in front of the cafe is a soryuji, a small reservoir that stores water for farming. A lawn garden and walking path run alongside it, so it's a nice spot for a stroll before or after your drink. It was overcast that day and the sky was gray, but seeing the woods and water together gave the place a calm feel.
What I Ordered: Orange Latte, Nutty Beurre Latte, and Croissants
I ordered two of the signature drinks. According to the menu board, the orange latte is 7,500 won and the Nutty Beurre latte is 7,000 won.
With the first sip of the orange latte, a bright orange aroma hit right away.
Orange and latte might sound like an odd pairing, but the orange came through clearly over the smooth milk.
The Nutty Beurre latte lived up to its name with a wonderfully nutty flavor. The crunchy topping sprinkled on top added even more of that toasty richness.
For bread, I picked a chocolate croissant and a plain croissant. Both were soft and went well with the drinks. Going back and forth between the zesty orange latte and the nutty Nutty Beurre latte while eating the bread worked really well.
The Second-Floor Restroom and the Little Pine Tree Outside the Window
The restroom is on the second floor, and the view from inside was lovely. The window is a special type that you can see out of from inside but can't see into from outside. Through it, you can look out at a single small pine tree planted in one corner of the garden. The fact that they put this much thought into even the restroom stuck with me.
The Building Exterior and Parking
The building is finished in gray metal panels and concrete, which gives it a gallery-like look.
Parking is right in front of the building.
It's a little outside the city center, so driving there is the easiest option.
The Menu Board and Bread on Display
You order at the counter, and a buzzer lets you know when your drinks and food are ready.
The menu board is divided into signature drinks, coffee, non-coffee drinks, seasonal drinks, tea, a kids' menu, and brunch.
When I visited, egg tarts were limited to two per person. The price tag listed them at 3,500 won each.
The mochi salt bread was 4,300 won according to the price tag. As the little description next to it suggests, it's worth a try if you like a chewy texture.
Different Seating and Views on Every Floor
One whole wall of the second floor is a floor-to-ceiling window, so you can see the soryuji and the woods from your seat. Besides the window tables, there was sofa seating too.
On the rooftop, long bar tables line the railing, which makes it a great spot to look out over the soryuji pond and the scenery.
On windy or cold days, it's a good idea to grab one of the lap blankets from the first floor before heading up.
The lawn garden in front of the building also has outdoor seating under shade canopies. On a nice day, it would be a pleasant place to sit and relax.

What to Check Before You Go
The hours, prices, brunch set discount, and egg tart limit are all as of my visit on October 13, 2026.
Since these can change, it's best to confirm by phone or on Instagram before you go.
I went on a weekday. On weekends, the parking lot and seats may fill up quickly, so if you want a relaxed visit, a weekday or an early time slot is your best bet.
Final Thoughts
NTBR is a bakery cafe where you can enjoy bread made with Lescure butter, signature lattes, and a view of the soryuji all in one visit.
The zesty orange latte and the nutty Nutty Beurre latte make it easy for two people with different tastes to each find something they like. Both went nicely with the soft croissants.
Small, thoughtful touches like the oven and lap blankets were everywhere, and the little pine tree outside the second-floor restroom window has stayed with me.
If you want bread, coffee, and a stroll all in one outing in Daejeon, it's worth stopping by.
