Rules for the service relationship
These Terms contain important rights and responsibilities. Please review them before using the Service.
Article 1. Purpose
These Terms govern the relationship between the service operator and each member or visitor who accesses Korimio websites, applications, and connected features from the United Kingdom.
They set the conditions for using the Service, allocate lawful responsibilities, protect the integrity of the platform, and preserve rights that cannot be excluded under applicable United Kingdom law.
Article 2. Definitions
The following definitions apply throughout these Terms. Undefined terms have the meaning given by applicable law, a service-specific policy, or ordinary usage.
- Service means official reviews, user reviews, Life, Knowledge Centre, Korean learning, maps and places, Play, search, recommendations, notifications, community features, and related websites or applications.
- Operator means the Korean service operator identified on this page and in the applicable operator-information notice.
- Member means a person who creates an account and accepts these Terms.
- Visitor means a person who uses public features without an account.
- Content includes posts, reviews, answers, comments, photographs, video, panoramas, translations, maps, place information, ratings, reactions, and learning results.
- User Content means Content submitted or transmitted by a Member.
- Operator Content means Content created by the Operator or supplied under authority to the Operator.
- Policies means service-specific rules, community standards, the Privacy Policy, and notices presented with a feature.
Article 3. Operator Information and Contact
The Service is operated from the Republic of Korea under the operator name displayed at the top of this document. Public support and privacy enquiries may be submitted through the Service customer-support channels or the contact method shown below.
Where United Kingdom law requires additional provider identity, address, pricing, complaint, regulatory, or transaction information, the Operator will provide it in an incorporated operator-information notice or before the relevant regulated service is offered.
No agent or user may represent that the Operator has a United Kingdom office, subsidiary, or local representative unless the Operator has expressly published that information.
Article 4. Scope, Local Application, and Priority
These United Kingdom Terms apply when the Service is directed to, contracted with, or used by a person in the United Kingdom. Service-specific terms and transaction disclosures also apply.
The parties select the law of the Republic of Korea as the general law governing their contractual relationship, except that this choice does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protections available under the law of the part of the United Kingdom in which the consumer habitually resides.
If a non-waivable United Kingdom rule conflicts with these Terms, that rule controls only to the extent of the conflict and the remaining provisions continue to apply.
Article 5. Publication, Amendment, and Notice
The Operator publishes these Terms in a form that users can review and retain. The version, announcement date, and effective date appear on this page.
The Operator may amend these Terms for legal, security, technical, or service reasons. A material change that adversely affects users will ordinarily be announced at least 30 days before it takes effect. Other changes will ordinarily be announced at least 7 days in advance.
Where law requires express agreement or a particular notice method, silence or continued use alone will not replace that requirement. A Member who rejects a change may stop using the affected Service and close the account before the effective date.
Article 6. Agreement and Electronic Records
An agreement is formed when a user is presented with these Terms, takes the requested affirmative action to accept them, submits a valid registration or service request, and the Operator accepts that request.
Electronic records, confirmations, and signatures may be used where permitted by law. Any pre-contract information, cancellation information, or durable-copy requirement applying to a paid distance contract will be supplied separately before the user is bound.
The Operator may refuse or cancel registration based on material falsity, identity misuse, repeated sanction evasion, a clear threat to the Service, or technical incapacity, subject to applicable law and any required explanation or review.
Article 7. Children and Minors
The general Service is not designed as a service specifically for young children. A person under the applicable age for independent consent or contracting must use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian where required.
Where consent is relied on to process personal data in connection with an information-society service offered directly to a child, the Operator will apply the age and parental-authorisation requirements of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
The Operator may restrict age-inappropriate features, use proportionate age-assurance measures, and take child-safety measures required by applicable law, including the Online Safety Act 2023 where the Service is in scope.
Article 8. Accounts and Authentication Security
Members must provide accurate information, keep it current, and safeguard passwords, one-time login keys, sessions, and authentication devices.
A Member must promptly notify the Operator of suspected account compromise. The Operator may require reauthentication, terminate sessions, reset credentials, or temporarily restrict high-risk activity to protect the account and Service.
To the extent permitted by law, the Operator is not responsible for loss caused solely by a Member’s voluntary disclosure or unreasonable handling of authentication credentials when the Operator was not at fault.
Article 9. Scope of the Service
The Service may include official reviews, user reviews, Life, Knowledge Centre, Korean learning, maps, places, Play, profiles, comments, answers, likes, bookmarks, search, recommendations, translation, notifications, and future related features.
Some features may depend on login, age, country, device, permission, account history, separate consent, or third-party availability. Beta or experimental features may have limited availability and may change or end.
Article 10. Service Changes, Maintenance, and Interruptions
The Operator may modify free features for quality, security, legal compliance, technology changes, discontinued dependencies, or operational need. Reasonable notice will be provided for a foreseeable material discontinuation.
Emergency maintenance or restriction may occur without advance notice when required to address a security incident, outage, disaster, unlawful use, or threat to users.
If a paid feature is materially reduced or discontinued, the Operator will provide any refund, substitute performance, or other remedy required by the purchase terms and applicable consumer law.
Article 11. User Responsibilities
Users must comply with law, these Terms, applicable Policies, and feature instructions, and must respect the rights and safety of others.
A user is responsible for confirming the legality and accuracy of submitted information and for obtaining permissions concerning copyright, privacy, data protection, publicity, trade marks, location information, and advertising disclosures.
A sponsorship, incentive, employment relationship, ownership interest, or other material connection related to a review or endorsement must be disclosed clearly where required.
Article 12. Prohibited Conduct
Users may not engage in conduct that violates law, harms others, or undermines the integrity or availability of the Service, including the following:
- Impersonation, identity misuse, account trading, unauthorised access, or evasion of authentication or sanctions.
- Illegal content, credible threats, child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate images, exploitation, fraud, unlawful hatred, or content that unlawfully infringes another person’s rights.
- Unauthorised collection, disclosure, sale, or tracking of personal data or confidential information.
- Malware, code injection, vulnerability exploitation, abusive automation, denial-of-service activity, or circumvention of technical restrictions.
- Fake reviews, concealed incentives, manipulated ratings, artificial reactions, deceptive ranking activity, spam, or repeated unsolicited advertising.
- Materially false place, map, price, availability, or safety information likely to mislead users.
- Copyright, trade mark, database-right, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights infringement.
Article 13. User Content Ownership and Warranties
A user retains ownership of rights the user lawfully holds in User Content. Submission does not transfer ownership to the Operator.
The user warrants that the user has the rights and permissions needed to submit the Content and that its permitted use under these Terms will not unlawfully infringe another person’s rights.
Nothing in these Terms transfers moral rights or other rights that cannot lawfully be transferred or waived. Any waiver operates only where valid and only to the extent necessary for the licence below.
Article 14. Limited Licence for Service Operation
By submitting User Content, the user grants the Operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, translate, display, communicate, and technically adapt that Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service and its relevant content.
This licence does not authorise sale of a user’s Content as a standalone work. It lasts while the Content is available and for a reasonable backup, legal, moderation, or dispute-retention period after deletion.
Where a feature requests broader promotional use, commercial reuse, or a separate licence, the Operator will obtain the additional agreement required by law.
Article 15. Editing, Translation, and Display
The Operator may format, crop, resize, transcode, moderate, and translate Content to provide the Service, while taking reasonable care not to change the substance of a user’s statement.
Machine or assisted translations may contain errors. The source-language version remains the primary user statement unless an authorised official translation is expressly identified.
Material corrections, translation status, sponsorship, and other disclosures may be shown with labels so that users can understand the source and context.
Article 16. Official Reviews and Endorsements
Official Reviews are researched, edited, or checked under standards set by the Operator. Prices, opening hours, menus, policies, transport, and local conditions may change after the verification date.
Official Reviews provide general information and do not guarantee the quality, safety, suitability, or outcome of a transaction. Users should verify important information with the business or relevant authority before visiting or purchasing.
Sponsorship, advertising, affiliate relationships, gifts, or other material connections will be disclosed where required by United Kingdom advertising and consumer law.
Article 17. User Reviews
User Reviews express individual experiences and opinions and are not statements by the Operator. Reviewers must write honestly from genuine experience and must not submit or commission fake reviews, conceal incentives, defame competitors, or manipulate ratings.
The Operator may examine duplication, unusual activity, disclosure, account history, and reports to protect review integrity. A lawful negative opinion will not be removed merely because it is negative.
Businesses may respond and report factual or legal concerns, but may not require a reviewer to surrender a lawful consumer right or suppress an honest review as a condition of resolving a complaint.
Article 18. Comments, Answers, Likes, and Bookmarks
Posts, comments, and answers are subject to the same legal, rights, and community standards. Reactions, views, and ranking signals may be recalculated or filtered to prevent abuse.
The Operator may limit spam, malicious links, impersonation, coordinated manipulation, or conduct that presents a genuine safety risk. Ordinary criticism, questions, disagreement, and good-faith repeated learning are not prohibited merely because they are inconvenient.
Article 19. Knowledge Centre, Life, and Korean Learning
Knowledge Centre answers and Life content provide general information and experience sharing. They do not replace medical, legal, tax, investment, immigration, or safety advice from a qualified professional or public authority.
Korean-learning materials, writing assessments, quizzes, progress, and scores are learning aids. The Operator does not guarantee examination success, qualification, or a particular learning result.
A user who supplies an answer or learning resource is primarily responsible for its legality and accuracy, subject to the Operator’s reporting and moderation processes.
Article 20. Maps, Places, Location, and Transport Information
Map boundaries, places, roads, waterways, railways, public transport, distances, and location information may combine public, licensed, processed, and user-supplied data and may not reflect current conditions.
The maps must not be the sole basis for legal boundary determination, surveying, navigation, emergency response, property rights, or a decision involving life or physical safety.
Users should verify routes, accessibility, opening status, warnings, and local restrictions with official sources and on-site information.
Article 21. Play, Rankings, Scores, and Rewards
Games, seasons, rankings, scores, badges, achievements, and rewards operate under the rules displayed with the feature. The Operator may correct records that were calculated incorrectly or obtained through abuse.
Automation, bug exploitation, account sharing, collusion, or artificial score generation is prohibited. Unless expressly stated otherwise, in-service points and badges are not money, electronic money, or transferable property.
If a paid element is introduced, the price, duration, renewal, cancellation, and refund conditions will be shown before purchase.
Article 22. Businesses, Advertising, and Third-Party Transactions
Unless the Operator expressly identifies itself as the seller or contracting party, a booking, purchase, or other transaction shown through the Service is made between the user and the relevant third-party business.
The business’s terms govern price, stock, booking, delivery, quality, cancellation, and refunds. This does not exclude responsibility the Operator has for its own statements, negligence, or conduct under applicable law.
Paid placement, advertising, sponsorship, and a trader’s status will be identified where required. If marketplace functionality is introduced, the transaction flow will state whether the supplier is a trader and what consumer rights apply.
Article 23. Search, Recommendations, and Rankings
Search results and recommendations may reflect relevance, recency, quality signals, user settings, location, safety, popularity, fraud prevention, and commercial status.
The Operator will identify advertising or paid placement and provide the main information about ranking or recommendation controls required by applicable law. Detailed anti-abuse signals and security logic may remain confidential.
A result list is not guaranteed to be complete, neutral, or suitable for every user. Users should exercise independent judgement for important decisions.
Article 24. Third-Party Services and Data
The Service may connect to third-party login, payment, mapping, storage, video, notification, booking, or other services. Their own terms and privacy notices may apply.
The Operator does not control an independent third party’s conduct or availability, but remains responsible where applicable law imposes responsibility for the Operator’s own selection, integration, instructions, or representations.
An external link is provided for convenience and does not by itself mean that the Operator endorses every statement, product, or transaction on the linked service.
Article 25. Reports, Illegal Content, and Moderation
Users and affected persons may report suspected illegal content, rights infringements, exposed personal data, false place information, or Policy violations through the available reporting channel.
The Operator may remove, restrict, demote, label, age-restrict, preserve, or refer Content or accounts where reasonably required by law, these Terms, user safety, or platform integrity. Measures are intended to be proportionate to the nature, severity, context, and recurrence of the issue.
Where the Online Safety Act 2023 applies, the Operator will describe applicable protection, reporting, and complaints processes clearly and accessibly and will apply relevant Terms consistently. Privacy and lawful freedom of expression will be considered when safety measures are designed and applied.
Article 26. Restrictions, Termination, and Review
Depending on the circumstances, the Operator may issue a warning, limit a feature, restrict posting, suspend access, or terminate an account. Emergency action may be taken without advance notice for a serious security threat, unlawful conduct, child-safety risk, repeated evasion, or likely irreparable harm.
Where reasonably possible and legally permitted, the affected user will receive the principal reason, duration, and available review or complaint route. Reviews will be handled fairly and within a reasonable period.
If Content or an account is restricted contrary to these Terms, nothing in these Terms removes any right a United Kingdom user has to seek contractual or statutory redress, including a right preserved by the Online Safety Act 2023 where applicable.
Article 27. Operator Intellectual Property
Rights in the Service software, design, trade marks, editorial works, database structure, and Operator Content belong to the Operator or the relevant licensor.
Except where law or an express licence permits it, users may not copy, adapt, reverse engineer, resell, systematically extract, or use those materials to build a competing dataset or service.
Normal indexing by public search engines and use of sharing tools supplied by the Service are permitted within the Operator’s published technical and policy controls.
Article 28. Privacy and Data Protection
The Operator processes personal data under the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and other applicable law where those rules apply. The Privacy Policy explains purposes, legal bases, categories, recipients, retention, international transfers, and rights.
These Terms do not replace a consent required by data-protection or electronic-communications law. Consent, where relied upon, will be requested separately and may be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Eligible users may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection and may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. International transfers will use an applicable adequacy regulation or another lawful safeguard.
Article 29. Notices and Marketing Communications
The Operator may give service notices through the website, account inbox, push notification, email, or another contact method supplied by the Member.
A general notice may be used for a change affecting users broadly, but an important paid-service, account-termination, or legally individualised notice will use an appropriate individual method.
Direct marketing by electronic means will be sent only in accordance with applicable privacy and electronic-communications rules and will include a practical opt-out. Essential security, transaction, and account notices are not marketing.
Article 30. Paid Services, Cancellation, and Refunds
Before a paid service is ordered, the Operator will identify the trader, main characteristics, total price, billing period, duration, renewal, cancellation method, and other information required for a distance contract.
A consumer may have a 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Any lawful exception for immediately supplied digital content or a fully performed service will be used only after the required express request, consent, and acknowledgement have been obtained.
Digital content and services supplied to consumers remain subject to applicable statutory quality, fitness, description, and remedy rights, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015. A purchase screen may provide more favourable terms but may not remove a mandatory right.
Article 31. Accuracy and Warranty Scope
The Operator takes reasonable steps to improve accuracy, security, and availability, but rapidly changing third-party and User Content may be incomplete or out of date.
Free features are provided as available to the extent permitted by law. No statement in these Terms excludes an express promise, statutory term, or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Users must verify time-sensitive or safety-critical information through an authoritative source before relying on it.
Article 32. Limitation of Operator Liability
The Operator is responsible for loss caused by its breach of contract, negligence, or other legal responsibility to the extent required by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of a non-excludable statutory consumer right, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to those protections, the Operator is not responsible for loss caused solely by an independent user or third party, a user’s unlawful conduct, or an event outside reasonable control. Liability for an unforeseeable or purely indirect loss is limited only to the extent the law permits.
Article 33. User Responsibility and Third-Party Claims
A user is responsible for loss the user causes through a proven intentional or negligent breach of law or these Terms, to the extent there is a sufficient causal connection.
If a third party raises a claim concerning User Content, the user must provide reasonable factual assistance. The Operator will not impose an unlimited indemnity on a consumer or transfer costs without regard to fault, causation, legal defences, and fairness.
Article 34. Events Beyond Reasonable Control
Neither party is responsible for delay caused by an event genuinely outside reasonable control, such as a major natural disaster, war, widespread network or power failure, epidemic, governmental action, or broad failure of essential infrastructure.
The Operator will take reasonable steps to reduce disruption and restore the Service. Any consumer right to a refund or termination for prolonged non-performance remains available where required by law.
Article 35. Account Closure and Data Treatment
A Member may request account closure through the available procedure. The Operator will process the request without undue delay, subject to records that must be retained for law, security, payment, unresolved disputes, or the protection of legal claims.
The Privacy Policy and closure notice explain what happens to personal data and User Content. De-identified aggregates, legally retained records, and independent replies or quotations by other users may not be deleted at the same time.
Where applicable data-protection law provides a right to receive user-supplied data, the request will be handled through the privacy-rights process.
Article 36. Records and Electronic Evidence
The Operator may retain records of agreement, payment, consent, complaints, moderation, security events, and disputes for the period reasonably required by law and the Privacy Policy.
Electronic records and account actions may be used as evidence, subject to applicable rules of evidence and the user’s right to challenge accuracy or authenticity.
Article 37. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
The parties should first use Customer Support to try to resolve a complaint. This does not delay or remove a statutory right to contact a regulator, use an applicable alternative dispute process, or bring proceedings.
Subject to Article 4, the contract is generally governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. A consumer retains mandatory protections and jurisdiction rights under the law of England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland that applies to the consumer.
A consumer may bring a claim in any court available under mandatory consumer-jurisdiction rules. The Operator may bring a claim against a consumer only in a court permitted by applicable law.
Article 38. Mandatory Rights and Severability
Nothing in these Terms limits a mandatory right under United Kingdom consumer, data-protection, online-safety, intellectual-property, equality, or other applicable law.
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent needed to make it lawful while preserving its purpose. The remaining provisions continue in effect.
Headings and summaries assist navigation but do not reduce a clear substantive right stated in these Terms or provided by law.
Article 39. Addendum
These United Kingdom Terms were announced on 1 September 2026 and take effect on 1 October 2026.
They apply from the effective date to existing Members using the Service in the United Kingdom, except that an existing paid transaction or a matter requiring separate consent remains governed by the applicable transaction terms and mandatory law.
