Rules for the service relationship

These Terms contain important rights and responsibilities. Please review them before using the Service.

Article 1. Purpose

These Terms govern the relationship between the service operator and each member or visitor who accesses Korimio websites, applications, and connected features from the United States.

They establish the conditions for using the Service, allocate lawful responsibilities, protect the integrity of the platform, and preserve rights that cannot be waived under applicable United States federal or state law.

Article 2. Definitions

The following definitions apply throughout these Terms. Undefined terms have the meaning given by applicable law, a service-specific policy, or ordinary usage.

  • Service means official reviews, user reviews, Life, Knowledge Center, Korean learning, maps and places, Play, search, recommendations, notifications, community features, and related websites or applications.
  • Operator means the Korean service operator identified on this page and in the applicable operator-information notice.
  • Member means a person who creates an account and enters into these Terms.
  • Visitor means a person who uses public features without an account.
  • Content includes posts, reviews, answers, comments, photographs, video, panoramas, translations, maps, place information, ratings, reactions, and learning results.
  • User Content means Content submitted or transmitted by a Member.
  • Operator Content means Content created by the Operator or supplied under authority to the Operator.
  • Policies means service-specific rules, community standards, the Privacy Policy, and notices presented with a feature.

Article 3. Operator Information and Contact

The Service is operated from the Republic of Korea under the operator name displayed at the top of this document. Public support and privacy inquiries may be submitted through the Service customer-support channels or the contact method shown below.

Where United States federal or state law requires additional provider identity, address, telephone, registration, pricing, or complaint information, the Operator will provide that information in the transaction flow or an incorporated operator-information notice before the regulated service is offered.

No agent or user may represent that the Operator has a United States office, subsidiary, or local representative unless the Operator has expressly published that information.

Article 4. Scope, Local Application, and Priority

These United States Terms apply when the Service is directed to, contracted with, or used by a person in the United States. Service-specific terms and transaction disclosures also apply.

The parties select the law of the Republic of Korea as the general law governing their contractual relationship, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent that a non-waivable United States federal law or the mandatory law of the user’s state of habitual residence applies.

These Terms do not deprive a consumer of protections that cannot lawfully be waived. If a mandatory local rule conflicts with these Terms, that rule controls only to the extent of the conflict, and the remaining provisions continue to apply.

Article 5. Publication, Amendment, and Notice

The Operator publishes these Terms in a form that users can retain and review. The version, announcement date, and effective date appear on this page.

The Operator may amend these Terms to reflect legal, security, technical, or service changes. A material change that adversely affects users will ordinarily be announced at least 30 days before it takes effect. Other changes will ordinarily be announced at least 7 days in advance.

When law requires affirmative consent, renewal consent, or a particular notice method, continued use or silence alone will not substitute for that requirement. A Member who rejects a change may stop using the affected Service and terminate the account before the effective date.

Article 6. Agreement and Electronic Records

An agreement is formed when a user is presented with these Terms, takes the affirmative action requested to accept them, submits a valid registration or service request, and the Operator accepts that request.

Electronic signatures and records may be used to the extent permitted by the E-SIGN Act and applicable state law. Where a law requires consumer consent to electronic disclosures, hardware or software information, withdrawal procedures, or a retainable copy, those requirements will be provided separately.

Users should retain a copy of the Terms and important transaction records. The Operator may refuse or cancel registration based on material falsity, identity misuse, repeated sanction evasion, a clear threat to the Service, or technical incapacity.

Article 7. Children and Minors

The general Service is not directed to children under 13. A child under 13 may not create an independent account or submit personal information unless a specifically designed feature provides the notice, verifiable parental consent, and controls required by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

A person who has not reached the age of legal majority in the applicable state may use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.

The Operator may restrict age-inappropriate features, request reasonable age assurance, or remove information when it has actual knowledge that it was collected contrary to applicable child-protection law.

Article 8. Accounts and Authentication Security

Members must provide accurate information, keep it current, and safeguard passwords, one-time login keys, sessions, and authentication devices.

A Member must promptly notify the Operator of suspected account compromise. The Operator may require reauthentication, terminate sessions, reset credentials, or temporarily restrict high-risk activity to protect the account and Service.

To the extent permitted by law, the Operator is not responsible for loss caused solely by a Member’s voluntary disclosure or unreasonable handling of authentication credentials when the Operator was not at fault.

Article 9. Scope of the Service

The Service may include official reviews, user reviews, Life, Knowledge Center, Korean learning, maps, places, Play, profiles, comments, answers, likes, bookmarks, search, recommendations, translation, notifications, and future related features.

Some features may depend on login, age, country, device, permission, account history, separate consent, or third-party availability. Beta or experimental features may have limited availability and may change or end.

Article 10. Service Changes, Maintenance, and Interruptions

The Operator may modify free features for quality, security, legal compliance, technology changes, discontinued dependencies, or operational need. The Operator will provide reasonable notice of a foreseeable material discontinuation.

Emergency maintenance or restriction may occur without advance notice when required to address a security incident, outage, disaster, unlawful use, or threat to users.

If a paid feature is materially reduced or discontinued, the Operator will provide any refund, substitute performance, or other remedy required by the purchase terms and applicable law.

Article 11. User Responsibilities

Users must comply with law, these Terms, applicable Policies, and feature instructions, and must respect the rights and safety of others.

A user is responsible for confirming the legality and accuracy of submitted information and for obtaining permissions concerning copyright, privacy, publicity, trademarks, location information, and advertising disclosures.

A material connection, sponsorship, incentive, employment relationship, or other consideration related to a review or endorsement must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed where required.

Article 12. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not engage in conduct that violates law, harms others, or undermines the integrity or availability of the Service, including the following:

  • Impersonation, account trafficking, identity misuse, false registration, or bypassing authentication and enforcement controls.
  • Illegal content, credible threats, sexual exploitation, unlawful discrimination, or material that creates a serious safety risk.
  • Unauthorized collection, disclosure, sale, or tracking of personal, confidential, financial, medical, or precise-location information.
  • Malware, script injection, vulnerability exploitation, manipulated API requests, access-control bypass, or unreasonable load.
  • Spam, scams, deceptive advertising, fake engagement, automated ranking manipulation, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.
  • Fake reviews, AI-generated reviews presented as real experience, paid sentiment, undisclosed insider reviews, or suppression of truthful negative reviews.
  • Copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or other rights infringement.
  • Sanction evasion or repeated conduct designed to interfere with another person’s normal use of the Service.

Article 13. User Content Ownership and Warranties

Users retain ownership of their User Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership of a consumer review to the Operator and do not prohibit or penalize an honest review of the Operator, its products, services, or conduct.

A user represents that the user has authority to submit the Content and has secured any permission required for included works, people, personal information, places, brands, or commercial claims.

A user remains responsible for unlawful User Content and must reasonably cooperate when a credible rights claim is made. Disagreement with a negative opinion alone does not make that opinion false or unlawful.

Article 14. Limited License for Service Operation

By submitting User Content, the user grants the Operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, format, display, and distribute that Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service in the visibility selected by the user.

The license includes accessibility conversion, device optimization, thumbnails, search indexing, disclosed translation, recommendations, backups, moderation, rights enforcement, and representative promotion of the Service. It does not authorize sale of the User Content as a stand-alone product.

The license generally ends after deletion and a reasonable backup period, subject to legal retention, dispute preservation, security records, and copies independently shared by others. Nothing in this Article restricts rights protected by the Consumer Review Fairness Act.

Article 15. Editing, Translation, and Display

The Operator may make formatting, spelling, accessibility, safety, and technical adjustments that do not materially distort meaning.

Automated or model-assisted translations and summaries may contain errors. The identified source text controls unless an official reviewed translation is expressly designated as controlling.

Material editorial changes to User Content require user authorization or a clearly stated legal or moderation basis. Operator-created official translations and automated translations should be distinguishable.

Article 16. Official Reviews and Endorsements

Official Reviews are Operator Content produced or reviewed under editorial standards. Prices, hours, menus, availability, rules, transit, and local conditions may change after verification.

A sponsorship, affiliate relationship, free product, payment, or other material connection will be clearly disclosed where required by the Federal Trade Commission Act, the Endorsement Guides, or applicable state law.

Official Reviews provide information and opinion, not a guarantee of safety, quality, availability, fitness, or transaction outcome. Users should verify material details with the business or an official authority.

Article 17. User Reviews

User Reviews express the author’s experience or opinion and are not the Operator’s official position. Reviewers must be truthful about whether they had the represented experience and must disclose material connections.

Users and businesses may not buy or sell fake reviews, condition an incentive on positive or negative sentiment, misrepresent an insider review as independent, threaten a person to suppress a lawful negative review, or manipulate review indicators.

The Operator may investigate authenticity signals, duplicate submissions, coordinated manipulation, and credible reports. Moderation criteria must be applied without favoring positive over negative sentiment.

Article 18. Comments, Answers, Likes, and Bookmarks

Comments and answers are governed by the same legal, rights, and community standards as other Content. Reaction, view, ranking, and bookmark counts may be deduplicated or corrected to protect integrity.

The Operator may restrict clear spam, automated manipulation, malicious links, impersonation, or safety threats. Ordinary criticism, questions, repeated learning, and normal activity are not prohibited merely because they are frequent or unfavorable.

Article 19. Knowledge Center, Life, and Korean Learning

Knowledge Center answers and Life content provide general information and personal experience. They are not a substitute for licensed medical, legal, tax, investment, emergency, or other professional advice.

Korean-learning lessons, handwriting evaluation, quizzes, progress, and scores are educational aids. The Operator does not guarantee exam passage, fluency, employment, admission, or a particular learning result.

Users should consult a qualified professional or public authority when a decision may materially affect health, safety, rights, or finances.

Article 20. Maps, Places, Location, and Transportation

Maps, boundaries, places, roads, waterways, transit, distances, and coordinates may combine public, licensed, processed, and user-reported data and may be incomplete, approximate, or outdated.

The Service is not an authoritative source for legal boundaries, surveying, title, navigation, rescue, disaster response, or a decision involving life or physical safety.

A place without precise coordinates may be displayed at an administrative-area center until verified data is available. Users must check official maps, carriers, authorities, local signs, and current safety information before travel.

Article 21. Play, Rankings, Scores, and Rewards

Games, seasons, rankings, scores, badges, achievements, and rewards operate under rules displayed with the feature. The Operator may correct records affected by error, fraud, automation, account sharing, collusion, or bug exploitation.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, points and badges have no cash value, are not currency or property, and may not be transferred, sold, or redeemed.

Any future paid game element will disclose price, duration, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms before purchase.

Article 22. Businesses, Advertising, and Third-Party Transactions

Information about restaurants, lodging, sellers, advertisers, or booking and purchase links does not make the Operator a party to a transaction unless the Operator expressly states otherwise.

The third party is responsible for its prices, inventory, reservations, delivery, quality, refunds, warranties, and legally required disclosures. The Operator remains responsible for its own misrepresentations or negligence as required by law.

Advertising, sponsored placement, and affiliate relationships will be identified in a manner reasonably understandable to users.

Article 23. Search, Recommendations, and Rankings

Results may reflect relevance, recency, quality signals, user settings, location, integrity controls, safety, and availability. They are not guaranteed to be complete, neutral, or identical for all users.

The Operator may change ranking systems and withhold details that would enable manipulation or create security risk. Material sponsored placement will be distinguished from ordinary results.

No user may purchase or fabricate engagement to misrepresent popularity, influence, experience, or independent opinion.

Article 24. Third-Party Services and Data

The Service may rely on external login, payment, storage, maps, media, notifications, analytics, or other providers. Their own terms and privacy policies may apply to the user’s direct relationship with them.

The Operator does not control an independent third party’s acts or availability, but remains responsible for its own selection, integration, instruction, and oversight to the extent required by law.

A link is provided for convenience and does not by itself endorse all external content or transactions.

Article 25. Reports, Copyright Claims, and Moderation

Users may report illegal content, rights infringement, exposed personal information, deceptive reviews, false place information, or Policy violations and should identify the content, reason, and supporting information.

The Operator may label, limit, temporarily disable, remove, preserve, or report Content based on law, a credible rights claim, safety, or platform integrity. Context, severity, repetition, evidence, and lawful expression should be considered.

Copyright notices and counter-notices must contain the information required by applicable law. If the Operator designates a Digital Millennium Copyright Act agent, the registered agent information and repeat-infringer policy will be published separately. These Terms do not claim a statutory safe harbor before its conditions are met.

Article 26. Restrictions, Termination, and Appeal

Depending on severity and risk, the Operator may issue a warning, restrict a feature, limit distribution, suspend an account, or terminate the agreement. Measures should be proportionate where circumstances permit.

Immediate action may be taken for a security threat, child-safety risk, credible unlawful conduct, repeated enforcement evasion, fraud, or likely irreparable harm.

The Operator will ordinarily provide the reason, duration, and an appeal method, unless doing so would create a safety, investigative, legal, or security risk.

Article 27. Operator Intellectual Property

The Service software, design, marks, compilations, database structure, Operator Content, and materials are owned by the Operator or applicable licensors.

Except as allowed by law or an express feature, users may not reproduce, reverse engineer, resell, scrape at scale, bypass technical controls, or use protected material to build a competing database or service.

Normal indexing by compliant public search engines and use of the Service’s authorized sharing tools are permitted within published technical and Policy limits.

Article 28. Privacy

Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy and applicable Korean and United States privacy law. These Terms are not a substitute for a consent or notice that privacy law requires separately.

Depending on applicability and state residency, users may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain, or opt out of certain processing, sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling, and to appeal or avoid discrimination for exercising a right.

California rights, including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, are addressed in the Privacy Policy and applicable collection notices. No provision of these Terms waives a non-waivable state privacy right.

Article 29. Notices and Marketing Communications

The Operator may provide contractual and service notices through the Service, account notifications, push messages, email, or contact information supplied by the Member.

Where E-SIGN or state law requires affirmative consent to electronic records, paper options, withdrawal instructions, or hardware and software disclosures, the Operator will obtain and retain the required consent separately.

Commercial email will comply with the CAN-SPAM Act, including accurate sender information, non-deceptive subject lines, required identification and address information, and a functioning opt-out. Transactional, security, and account notices are distinguished from marketing.

Article 31. Accuracy and Warranty Scope

The Operator uses reasonable efforts to improve accuracy, security, and availability, but changing third-party information and User Content may be incomplete, outdated, or erroneous.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FREE FEATURES ARE PROVIDED ON AN AS-AVAILABLE BASIS WITHOUT IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT MAY LAWFULLY BE DISCLAIMED.

This Article does not disclaim an express promise, a statutory warranty, or liability that cannot be disclaimed, and it does not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, or other conduct for which a disclaimer is prohibited.

Article 32. Limitation of Operator Liability

The Operator is responsible for harm caused by its fault to the extent required by applicable law. It is not responsible for harm caused solely by a user, an independent third party, a user’s violation of instructions, or an event beyond reasonable control.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES THAT WERE NOT REASONABLY FORESEEABLE.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, aggregate liability arising from the same event or series of related events will not exceed the greater of USD 100 or the amount the claimant paid the Operator for the affected Service during the 12 months before the event.

The exclusions and cap do not apply to willful misconduct, gross negligence where it cannot be limited, death or bodily injury, unlawful privacy or data-security conduct, an express paid-service obligation, or any liability that federal or state law does not permit the parties to limit.

Article 33. User Liability and Third-Party Claims

A user is responsible for legally recoverable harm caused by the user’s intentional or negligent violation of law, these Terms, or another person’s rights.

To the extent permitted by law, a user will defend and indemnify the Operator against a third-party claim arising directly from the user’s unlawful User Content, fraud, or willful violation, except to the extent the claim was caused by the Operator.

The Operator must provide reasonable notice and cooperation. It may control the defense, but may not agree to a settlement imposing a non-monetary obligation or admission on the user without the user’s consent.

Article 34. Events Beyond Reasonable Control

Neither party is liable for delayed or failed performance caused by a natural disaster, war, terrorism, epidemic, government action, nationwide network or power failure, major infrastructure outage, or similar event beyond reasonable control.

The Operator will use reasonable efforts to reduce impact and restore the Service. If a paid feature remains unavailable, remedies required by the purchase terms or applicable law remain available.

Article 35. Account Closure and Data Treatment

A Member may request account closure through the available account or support process. The Operator may complete identity, security, payment, legal-retention, or active-dispute checks before final processing.

Personal information and User Content are handled as described in the Privacy Policy and deletion notice. Legal records, security evidence, de-identified aggregate data, dispute materials, and independent replies or quotations may remain where lawfully required.

Members should review or export available information they wish to keep before closure.

Article 36. Records and Electronic Evidence

The Operator may retain records reasonably necessary to document agreement, consent, payment, reports, moderation, security events, and disputes for the periods permitted by law and the Privacy Policy.

Important electronic records should be maintained in a form capable of accurate reproduction. A Member should promptly dispute a material account action that the Member believes is inaccurate or unauthorized.

Article 37. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Except for mandatory United States federal or state protections that apply regardless of contractual choice, these Terms and the contractual relationship are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.

Before filing a non-urgent claim, the parties should send a reasonably detailed notice and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute for 30 days. This step does not shorten a limitation period or prevent urgent injunctive, small-claims, regulatory, or legally protected relief.

Courts in the Republic of Korea are a non-exclusive forum. A United States consumer may bring a claim in any court that has mandatory jurisdiction under applicable federal or state law. The Operator may seek protective or injunctive relief in any court with lawful jurisdiction.

This version does not impose mandatory arbitration, a jury-trial waiver, or a class-action waiver. Any future dispute program requires separate legal review, conspicuous disclosure, and any consent or opt-out required by law.

Article 38. Mandatory Law, State Rights, and Severability

The laws of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and applicable territories differ. Nothing in these Terms waives a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived in the user’s state. A disclaimer, liability limitation, renewal term, or remedy restriction applies only to the extent permitted there.

California users may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and other California consumer laws. If California Civil Code section 1789.3 applies, complaints may be directed to the Operator through the contact shown on this page and to the Complaint Assistance Unit of the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Consumer Information Center, 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N-112, Sacramento, CA 95834, telephone 800-952-5210.

For New Jersey consumers, no provision waives a clearly established right under New Jersey or federal consumer law. Warranty disclaimers, damage exclusions, indemnity, and remedy limitations apply only to the extent permitted by New Jersey law.

If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or replaced to the minimum extent necessary to make it lawful while preserving its purpose. The remaining provisions continue in effect.

Article 39. Addendum

These United States Terms were announced on September 1, 2026 and take effect on October 1, 2026.

They apply from the effective date to existing Members using the Service in the United States, except that an existing paid transaction or a matter requiring separate consent remains governed by the applicable transaction terms and mandatory law.
