Rules for the service relationship
These Terms contain important rights and responsibilities. Please review them before using the Service.
Article 1. Purpose
These Terms govern access to and use of the websites, applications, and connected features operated under the Service name and define the rights and responsibilities of the Operator, Members, and Visitors.
They are designed to support a safe and reliable service while preserving consumer, privacy, child-protection, electronic-commerce, platform, and procedural rights that applicable mandatory law does not permit the parties to waive.
Article 2. Definitions
Capitalised terms have the meanings below. A term not defined here has the meaning given by an incorporated policy, a feature-specific notice, applicable law, or ordinary usage.
- Service means official reviews, user reviews, Life, Knowledge Center, Korean learning, maps and places, Play, search, recommendations, notifications, community features, and related websites or applications.
- Operator means the Korean service operator identified in the applicable country document and verified operator-information notice.
- Member means a person who creates an account; Visitor means a person who uses a public feature without an account.
- Content includes posts, reviews, answers, comments, photographs, video, translations, maps, place information, ratings, reactions, learning results, and similar material.
- User Content means Content submitted by a Member or Visitor; Operator Content means Content created by or lawfully supplied to the Operator.
- Policies means the Privacy Notice, community standards, feature rules, transaction disclosures, and other notices expressly incorporated into these Terms.
Article 3. Operator Information and Contact
The Service is operated from the Republic of Korea by the legal operator identified in the applicable country page and verified operator-information notice. Support, privacy, rights, and complaint channels are provided through the Service.
Before a regulated or paid service is offered, the Operator will disclose every identity, physical or service address, registration, tax, pricing, and contact fact required by applicable law. No local office, entity, licence, or representative exists merely because a country draft has been prepared.
Before publication, the Operator must disclose its verified legal and trade name, physical place of business, valid email and telephone contacts, business and tax registration, customer and complaint channels, and any professional or sector licence required for its role. Where the Online Business Database submission duty applies, the required information must be submitted and kept accurate. This draft does not represent that any registration or submission is complete.
Article 4. Scope, Local Application, and Priority
These Terms apply together with the reviewed country profile, service-specific terms, transaction disclosures, and incorporated Policies relevant to the user and feature.
The parties select the law of the Republic of Korea as the general law governing their contractual relationship. That choice does not deprive a person of non-waivable protections that apply because of habitual residence, service targeting, transaction, data processing, or another mandatory connecting factor.
A mandatory local rule prevails only to the extent of an actual conflict. The remaining provisions continue to operate, and the Operator does not claim that Korean law always overrides foreign mandatory law.
The Internet Transactions Act and its Rules may apply to a business outside the Philippines when its conduct shows that it purposely avails itself of the Philippine market. A non-waivable Philippine consumer, privacy, child-protection, electronic-transaction, platform, merchant, regulator, court, or remedy rule applies according to its own scope despite the Korean-law selection.
Article 5. Publication, Amendment, Notice, and Consent
The Operator publishes these Terms in a form that can be reviewed and retained. The applicable version, announcement date, effective date, language status, and previous-version route are shown with the country document.
A material adverse amendment receives reasonable advance notice and any affirmative consent required by law. Silence or continued use does not replace express consent where the law requires it, and an amendment does not retrospectively remove an accrued mandatory right.
Article 6. Contract Formation
A contract is formed when the user receives the required information, takes the requested affirmative acceptance action, submits a valid registration or transaction request, and the Operator accepts it or supplies the relevant Service.
The Operator may reject or reverse a request affected by material falsity, identity misuse, fraud, manifest error, technical duplication, legal restriction, or serious prior misuse. Any payment taken for an unformed transaction will be returned as required by law.
Electronic records, signatures, and notices may be used when valid under the law that applies to the transaction. A user should retain important contractual and transaction records.
Electronic records, signatures, and contracts may be used to the extent recognised by the Electronic Commerce Act and other applicable law. Before acceptance and payment, an in-scope user must receive clear and accurate information about the operator and merchant, material product or service characteristics, total price and charges, payment and performance, compatibility or technical requirements, warranty, return, refund, cancellation, and complaint process, together with an appropriate correction opportunity and retainable confirmation.
A digital good or service must provide the advertised functionality and the applicable compatibility, interoperability, accessibility, continuity, and security. Electronic acceptance does not waive a statutory disclosure or remedy.
Article 7. Children and Minors
A person who cannot lawfully agree to these Terms must use the Service only with the consent, involvement, and supervision required from a parent or legal guardian. A feature subject to a statutory minimum age may apply an age gate or refuse registration.
Child-directed processing, profiling, marketing, location use, and publication require heightened safeguards and any verifiable parental authorisation mandated by law. The Operator may restrict an account or remove information to protect a child, without shifting the Operator's statutory duties to the child or parent.
A person generally attains majority at 18 under Republic Act No. 6809, while capacity for the specific act is determined by applicable law. Korimio will obtain parent or guardian involvement where required and will not describe a minor's click as validating a transaction that the law treats as beyond the minor's capacity.
A feature intended for or likely to be accessed by children must use risk-based, child-oriented transparency, consider the child's best interests and evolving capacities, and include child impact assessment in the privacy impact process. Information must be clear and understandable to the relevant child, with high-protection settings and parent or guardian involvement where the risk and lawful basis require it.
Article 8. Account and Authentication Security
Members must provide accurate information, protect passwords, passkeys, sessions, recovery methods, and authentication devices, and promptly report suspected compromise.
The Operator may require proportionate reauthentication, terminate sessions, reset credentials, rate-limit attempts, or temporarily restrict high-risk activity. A Member is responsible only for loss lawfully attributable to that Member's fault and causation.
Article 9. Service Scope
The Service may include publishing, reviews, community interaction, translation, discovery, mapping, learning, rankings, vendors, notifications, and entertainment features. A feature page may state additional eligibility, device, location, permission, or account requirements.
Beta and free features may have limited availability. Paid features are supplied under the pre-contract information, service level, and mandatory guarantees applicable to the purchase.
Article 10. Changes, Maintenance, and Interruptions
The Operator may maintain, secure, improve, replace, or discontinue a free feature for legal, technical, security, dependency, or operational reasons and will give reasonable notice of a foreseeable material discontinuation.
Emergency action may be taken without advance notice where delay would materially increase an outage, security incident, unlawful use, disaster, or safety risk. A paid feature retains every refund, substitute performance, cancellation, or other remedy required by law.
Article 11. User Duties
Users must comply with law, these Terms, incorporated Policies, and reasonable security or feature instructions, and must respect the rights and safety of others.
A user must verify submitted information and obtain permissions required for copyright, trade marks, privacy, publicity, confidential information, location information, and commercial disclosures.
Article 12. Prohibited Conduct
A user must not misuse the Service or assist another person to do so, including through the following conduct:
- Illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, exploitative, defamatory, privacy-invasive, discriminatory, or seriously unsafe conduct.
- Identity misuse, impersonation, account trafficking, sanction evasion, credential attacks, unauthorised access, malware, injection, or security-control bypass.
- Spam, scams, unauthorised scraping or automation, unreasonable load, manipulated requests, fake engagement, ranking abuse, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour.
- Fabricated reviews, undisclosed paid endorsements, insider reviews presented as independent, or pressure intended to suppress a lawful negative review.
- Copyright, trade mark, publicity, privacy, confidential-information, or other rights infringement.
- Unauthorised collection, disclosure, sale, or tracking of sensitive, financial, health, child, or precise-location information.
Article 13. User Content Ownership and Warranties
Users retain ownership of User Content. These Terms do not transfer authorship or ownership to the Operator.
A user represents that the user may lawfully submit the Content and has obtained permissions required for included works, people, personal information, locations, brands, and commercial claims. The user remains responsible for unlawful Content to the extent of fault, causation, and legally recoverable harm.
Article 14. Limited Service-Operation Content Licence
By submitting User Content, the user grants the Operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit, format, display, and distribute it only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Service within the user-selected visibility.
The licence includes accessibility conversion, device optimisation, thumbnails, search indexing, disclosed translation, recommendations, backups, moderation, and rights enforcement. It does not permit an unrelated stand-alone sale of the Content or a blanket waiver of moral rights.
The licence generally ends after deletion and a reasonable backup period, subject to lawful retention, dispute preservation, prior authorised distribution, and copies independently shared by others.
Article 15. Editing, Translation, and Display
The Operator may make formatting, spelling, accessibility, safety-presentation, and technical adjustments that do not materially distort meaning. A material editorial change requires authorisation or a clearly stated legal or moderation basis.
Automated or model-assisted translations and summaries may contain errors. The identified source controls unless a reviewed translation is expressly designated as controlling, and users may report a material translation error.
Article 16. Official Reviews
Official Reviews are Operator Content produced or reviewed under editorial standards. Prices, hours, menus, availability, rules, transport, and local conditions may change after verification.
Sponsorship, affiliate relationships, free products, payment, or another material connection will be disclosed where required. An Official Review is information and opinion, not a guarantee of safety, quality, availability, or transaction outcome.
An official review, endorsement, ranking, comparison, or sponsored feature must be accurate and must not be deceptive, unfair, or unconscionable. A material commercial relationship, incentive, methodology, price limitation, or product restriction must be disclosed conspicuously enough to support an informed consumer choice.
Article 17. User Reviews
User Reviews express the author's experience or opinion and are not the Operator's official position. They must be genuine, relevant, and free from unlawful manipulation or undisclosed material incentives.
The Operator may investigate authenticity, duplication, coordinated behaviour, and credible reports, but a lawful review is not removed merely because it is negative. Businesses may respond or report but may not coerce suppression of an honest review.
Korimio may investigate fabricated, purchased, coordinated, impersonated, or undisclosed incentivised reviews. Review moderation and commercial placement must not mislead an online consumer about origin, independence, relevance, sentiment, merchant identity, or the existence of compensation.
Article 18. Comments, Answers, Reactions, and Community Activity
Comments, answers, questions, reactions, follows, and bookmarks are subject to the same legal and community standards as other Content. Counts may be deduplicated or corrected for error, fraud, or manipulation.
The Operator may restrict clear spam, malicious links, impersonation, automation, or safety threats. Legitimate criticism, questions, learning repetition, and ordinary activity are not prohibited merely because they are frequent or unfavourable.
Article 19. Knowledge Center, Life, and Korean Learning
Knowledge Center answers and Life posts provide general information and personal experience and do not replace licensed medical, legal, tax, financial, immigration, emergency, or other professional advice.
Lessons, handwriting feedback, quizzes, progress, and scores are educational aids and do not guarantee an examination, fluency, employment, admission, or other result. Important decisions should be checked with a qualified professional or public authority.
Article 20. Maps, Places, Location, and Transportation
Maps, boundaries, places, roads, waterways, transport, distances, and coordinates may combine public, licensed, processed, and user-reported data and may be delayed, approximate, incomplete, or outdated.
The Service is not an authoritative source for legal boundaries, surveying, property title, safety-critical navigation, rescue, or disaster response. Users must check official maps, carriers, authorities, signs, and current conditions.
Article 21. Play, Rankings, Scores, Badges, and Rewards
Games, seasons, rankings, scores, badges, achievements, and rewards operate under feature rules. Records affected by error, fraud, automation, collusion, account sharing, or exploit use may be corrected.
Unless a lawful regulated offer expressly states otherwise, points and badges have no cash value, are not currency or property, and cannot be transferred, sold, or redeemed. Paid or promotional features require separate price, eligibility, duration, cancellation, and reward disclosures.
Article 22. Vendors, Advertising, and Third-Party Transactions
Displaying a restaurant, lodging, seller, advertiser, or booking link does not make the Operator a party to the transaction unless the Operator clearly states otherwise. The third party remains responsible for its price, inventory, delivery, quality, warranties, and refunds.
Advertising, sponsored placement, and affiliate relationships will be identifiable as required. The Operator remains responsible for its own representations, conduct, and intermediary duties that law assigns to it.
An online merchant, e-retailer, e-marketplace, or digital platform must provide the identity, registration, contact, price, product, warranty, return, refund, cancellation, and redress information required for its role. Korimio may verify and suspend a merchant that does not provide legally required information, sells prohibited or unsafe goods or services, or fails an applicable consumer remedy.
Article 23. Search, Recommendation, and Ranking Logic
Results may reflect relevance, recency, quality, language, settings, location, integrity, safety, popularity, and availability and need not be complete, neutral, or identical for every user.
The Operator may change ranking systems and protect details whose disclosure would enable manipulation or create security risk. Material sponsored placement will be distinguished, and principal-factor or appeal disclosures will be provided where law requires them.
Article 24. Third-Party Services and Data
The Service may depend on external hosting, login, payment, storage, maps, media, notifications, analytics, or other providers. Their terms and privacy notices may apply to a user's direct relationship with them.
The Operator does not control an independent provider's acts or availability but remains responsible for its own selection, integration, instruction, security, and oversight to the extent required by law.
Article 25. Reports, Rights Claims, and Moderation
A person may report illegal, unsafe, infringing, deceptive, privacy-invasive, or materially inaccurate Content through the available route and should identify the Content, legal or policy basis, authority, and reliable supporting information.
The Operator may preserve evidence, label, limit distribution, temporarily disable, remove, restore, or report Content after a proportionate review. Where compatible with law and safety, the affected person receives a reason and a route to challenge the decision.
Korimio will maintain an internal redress mechanism where required. Under the Internet Transactions Act Rules, an aggrieved party ordinarily uses that mechanism before filing with a court or agency, and the mechanism is deemed exhausted if the complaint remains unresolved after seven calendar days. This process does not erase an urgent, non-waivable, or regulator-authorised remedy.
Korimio may restrict access after a valid statutory notice, compliance, takedown, blacklist, cease-and-desist, court, or other binding order and will preserve records and cooperate as lawfully required. Platform or marketplace liability depends on the actual role, diligence, notice, control, and statutory conditions; these Terms do not create blanket immunity or exclude mandatory primary or subsidiary liability.
Article 26. Restrictions, Termination, and Appeal
The Operator may warn, rate-limit, restrict, suspend, or terminate an account for a material or repeated breach, illegality, fraud, security risk, or serious harm, considering context, severity, repetition, history, and evidence.
Urgent action may precede notice where delay creates material risk. Except where prohibited by law or necessary to protect an investigation, the Operator will provide a reason and an appeal channel, without restricting regulator or court remedies.
Article 27. Operator Intellectual Property
The Service software, design, trade marks, databases, Operator Content, and other assets are protected by law and remain owned by the Operator or licensors. Service access grants only the limited right needed to use the Service as intended.
Unauthorised copying, sale, sublicensing, systematic extraction, circumvention, or creation of a substitute service is prohibited, subject to any non-waivable exception for quotation, criticism, accessibility, interoperability, research, or other lawful use.
Article 28. Privacy
Personal information is handled under a separately reviewed exact-country Privacy Notice. It identifies the controller, data categories, purposes, lawful grounds, recipients and processors, transfers, retention, rights, security, complaint channel, and any representative required by law.
Sensitive, child, biometric, health, financial, and precise-location information receives safeguards proportionate to risk. Acceptance of these Terms never substitutes for separate consent or authorisation where law requires it, and a generic or foreign-locale privacy page is not treated as an approved country notice.
Where the Data Privacy Act applies, personal data will be processed under transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality, using an applicable lawful criterion and reasonable organisational, physical, and technical safeguards. Korimio will support applicable notice, access, correction, objection, erasure or blocking, portability, complaint, and damages rights and remains accountable for processors and cross-border arrangements.
A breach meeting the mandatory notification criteria will be reported to the National Privacy Commission and affected data subjects within 72 hours from knowledge or reasonable belief, using the permitted postponement, exemption, and follow-up process only where legally available. Other security incidents will still be documented and handled under the applicable rules.
The final privacy notice must identify the verified personal information controller and DPO, actual purposes and lawful criteria, data categories, processors, retention, transfers, automated decisions or profiling, child processing, rights, and complaint channels. Before publication, the Operator must confirm whether DPO and data-processing-system registration is mandatory or whether a sworn exemption route applies; this Terms summary does not represent compliance with either route.
Article 29. Notices and Marketing Communications
Operational, security, legal, and transaction notices may be sent through the Service or verified contact details and will be retainable where law requires. Users should keep those details reasonably current.
Marketing email, messages, and push notifications require the consent or other basis required by applicable law, identify the sender, and provide a simple withdrawal method. Marketing withdrawal does not disable essential contractual or security notices.
A direct-marketing communication will use personal data only under an applicable lawful criterion, identify the sender and commercial purpose, and provide the notice, objection, withdrawal, or opt-out control required by Philippine privacy, consumer, and channel-specific law. A service notice will not be used to conceal a promotion.
Article 30. Paid Services, Withdrawal, Cancellation, and Refunds
Before charging, the supplier will disclose its identity, main characteristics, total price and charges, duration, renewal, payment, performance, cancellation, statutory withdrawal, refund, complaint route, and applicable exceptions in a clear retainable form.
A mandatory withdrawal, conformity, warranty, refund, repair, replacement, price-reduction, or termination right is not reduced by these Terms. Immediate digital performance that affects a withdrawal right requires the separate request, consent, acknowledgement, and copy required by law.
An online consumer retains the repair, replacement, refund, warranty, compensation, and other remedies available under the Consumer Act, Internet Transactions Act, and other applicable law for defect, malfunction, non-conformity, misrepresentation, or contractual failure. This profile neither invents a universal cooling-off period nor authorises a blanket no-return or no-refund term. Any lawful restriction must be disclosed before payment.
Article 31. Accuracy and Warranty Scope
The Operator uses reasonable care in providing its own Service, but User Content, translations, maps, schedules, prices, and changing third-party information may contain error or become outdated.
To the extent lawful, the Service does not guarantee a commercial, educational, travel, medical, financial, or other outcome. No mandatory guarantee, conformity duty, remedy, or duty of reasonable care is excluded.
Article 32. Operator Liability
The Operator is responsible for direct loss caused by its intent or fault to the extent required by law. A lawful limitation applies only to indirect or unforeseeable loss outside an essential obligation and only where fair, transparent, and proportionate.
Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where protected, death or bodily injury, privacy or security breach, paid-service obligations, statutory consumer liability, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
No limitation, exclusion, or indemnity removes a mandatory consumer remedy, Internet Transactions Act primary or subsidiary liability, Data Privacy Act responsibility, child-protection duty, liability for a deceptive, unfair, or unconscionable practice, or any other responsibility that Philippine law makes non-excludable.
Article 33. Member Liability and Third-Party Disputes
A Member is responsible for legally recoverable harm caused by the Member's intentional or negligent breach where causation is proved. The Member does not give an unlimited indemnity or assume risk unrelated to the Member's conduct.
Users and third parties should ordinarily resolve their own transaction or Content dispute. The Operator may preserve evidence and take lawful safety measures without thereby becoming a party to the underlying transaction.
Article 34. Events Beyond Reasonable Control
Neither party is liable for delayed or failed performance caused by an unforeseeable or unavoidable event beyond reasonable control, including disaster, war, government action, widespread network or power failure, or critical infrastructure failure.
The affected party will use reasonable efforts to reduce harm, restore performance, and communicate material effects. This Article does not remove a refund, restitution, data-protection, or other obligation that remains mandatory despite the event.
Article 35. Account Closure and Data Treatment
A Member may request account closure through the offered process. The Operator may complete proportionate authentication, security, payment, legal-retention, and active-dispute checks before an irreversible action.
After closure, data is deleted, anonymised, or retained only for a lawful purpose and period, including fraud prevention, accounting, security, claim defence, and backup cycles. Account closure does not by itself exercise a statutory right to cancel a separate purchase.
Article 36. Records and Electronic Evidence
Within lawful limits, the Operator may retain records of acceptance, versions, notices, authentication, publication, moderation, payment, and communications to operate, audit, secure, and resolve disputes.
Electronic records have the validity and evidential weight assigned by applicable law. A person may request access to or correction of a relevant record where law provides that right.
Article 37. Governing Law and Disputes
The law of the Republic of Korea generally governs the contractual relationship. The parties should first attempt resolution through support or another available complaint procedure, without delaying urgent relief or a statutory deadline.
Courts in the Republic of Korea are an ordinary, non-exclusive forum to the extent lawful. This choice does not deprive a consumer of a mandatory regulator complaint, alternative dispute process, collective remedy, or competent court in the consumer's habitual-residence country.
Korean law and Korean courts remain the general contractual baseline only to the extent lawful. A Philippine user may complain to the DTI, National Privacy Commission, another competent regulator, or an applicable online dispute or internal redress mechanism and may use any non-waivable Philippine court or administrative remedy. A foreign forum term does not shorten a statutory period or make a local mandatory remedy impracticable.
Article 38. Mandatory Law and Severability
If a provision conflicts with applicable mandatory law, it is disapplied or limited only to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining Terms continue, and the affected provision is interpreted as closely as lawful to its legitimate purpose.
The Korean-law choice does not remove non-waivable consumer, privacy, child-protection, electronic-commerce, advertising, platform, accessibility, procedure, jurisdiction, or language rights applicable in the user's country.
If a term conflicts with mandatory Philippine law, it is limited or disregarded only to the extent necessary, and the rest remains effective. Nothing in this profile contracts out of non-waivable consumer, internet-transaction, privacy, child-protection, electronic-commerce, regulator, court, or remedy protections.

Article 39. Addendum, Announcement, Effective Date, and Version
The country profile states its version, announcement date, effective date, language status, and local additions. A prior country version remains addressable when one exists.
Country additions form part of these Terms only within their legal scope. Internal drafting, technical implementation, or publication does not constitute certification by independent local counsel.
Internal draft based on official sources accessed 1 September 2026. Publication is blocked until the exact-country privacy notice, verified operator and registration facts, service-role analysis, language decision, operational compliance workflows, and Philippine counsel approval are complete.
